FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
NEW YORK, NY - February 18, 2010 - "Manhood" is the latest offering from comedy music act Joberg & Gurner, and it’s 18 tracks of cleverly irreverent filth that even their own mothers won’t endorse.
In addition to classics like “The Dirty Sanchez”, “Cream of Wife In My Beard” and “Put an Extra Stitch In Doc”, this album features a slew of new tunes such as “Anniversary (Kiss Me Where I Pee)”, “Karl Malden (My Sweet Hook Nose)” and the title track “Manhood”. The album features full band recordings of their songs, ranging in style from Latin to Metal, R&B to Vaudeville and much more. Guest musicians include Andrew Totolos (The Giraffes) on drums, and Steve Lavner (Beauty & The Beast) on keyboards. “Manhood” drops on March 1st, 2010.
David Josefsberg and Jeff Gurner are two recovering Broadway performers who now find themselves nurturing their severe case of arrested development by performing their off-color brand of original music/stand-up comedy. NOT for the kids, their songs examine topics from befuddling male issues like the brutality of circumcision and what to do when your home office is supplanted by a nursery, to more intimate subjects such as the romance in abstinence and a new mother’s post-delivery healing process.
For the past three years, Joberg has toured with Stephen Lynch (The Wedding Singer) performing Joberg & Gurner songs nightly all over the United States and Europe. Now with the release of “Manhood” and a successful showcase at this year’s NACA convention, Joberg & Gurner will be touring colleges and clubs nationwide in 2010-11.
David Josefsberg (The Wedding Singer, Les Miz, Altar Boyz) is a seasoned Broadway musical theater vet and Drama League nominated actor. He was seen as “The Fonz” on NBC’s The Mork and Mindy Story. Jeff Gurner (The Lion King, Five Course Love) is an award winning voice-over artist and actor who is also an accomplished guitar/bass player and songwriter.
